Watch the Super Bowl for Debut of Ad Campaign
Kentucky’s newest health system is keeping with a national tradition in breaking its new advertising campaign during the Super Bowl broadcast. KentuckyOne Health’s campaign, designed to express our pride and ambition to improve health care for Kentuckians, will help build brand awareness throughout the Commonwealth.
The campaign’s TV spots will debut during the Super Bowl on Feb. 5 (the New York Giants and the New England Patriots will kick off at 6:25 p.m. ET). KentuckyOne Health negotiated ad rates directly with local TV stations in Louisville and Lexington, making the high-visibility ads affordable. The campaign will also include local billboard, newspaper and radio ads.
The TV spots will feature KentuckyOne Health employees in our facilities around the state – so, get your Super Bowl party started, then settle in to enjoy the game and catch a glimpse of a colleague or two!
KentuckyOne Logo Reflects Strength, Energy
You may be wondering about the meaning behind our new name and logo. Our name, KentuckyOne Health, expresses our vision to create a healthier Kentucky by coming together as one. It reflects our profound pride in being Kentuckians.
The KentuckyOne Health logo symbolizes the highest quality, advanced care that is now available to all Kentuckians. The intersecting triangles form a letter K, reinforcing our focus on improving the health status of Kentuckians and the integration of our services and expertise. The angled lines show a sense of optimism and our dynamic vision.
The color and shape of the design express technological advancement and innovation. The sophisticated hues, orange and purple, are distinctive in health care and together convey a sense of richness, depth, strength and energy.

The Gift of Life, Just in Time for the Holidays
A Louisville woman gave the gift of life to a stranger this holiday season as a living kidney donor. Candy Campbell donated one of her healthy kidneys to a stranger in need of a transplant in a procedure that took place December 20 at Jewish Hospital.
Campbell, 48, a mother of two grown daughters, first learned about being a living donor when a coworker needed a kidney transplant. She became an advocate for living organ donation.
“This was an easy decision for me,” Campbell said. “I am healthy, and someone else has 15 hours a week of dialysis and does not have the quality of life that I do.”
Michael Hughes, MD, an attending physician at Jewish Hospital and assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Louisville, conducted Campbell’s portion of the transplant procedure. Mary Eng, MD, a transplant surgeon with The Transplant Center at Jewish Hospital and an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Louisville, transplanted Campbell’s kidney into the recipient.
“More than 6,000 living organ donations occur each year, but the majority of those donations are between family members or friends,” said Marvin. “It is very generous of Candy to come forward and help a complete stranger.”

Answers to the Questions You’ve Been Asking
Do you have a question for Integration Update? Submit your question here.
Q. Who owns KentuckyOne Health?
A. As a nonprofit organization, KentuckyOne Health has sponsors, not owners:
- Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services (cosponsor of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare)
- Catholic Health Initiatives (sponsor of Saint Joseph Health System and cosponsor of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare).
Q. Will JHSMH abide by the restrictions on reproductive services and prescriptions?
A. Elective abortions, sterilizations and euthanasia will not be performed at any facility within KentuckyOne Health.
Q. Do I get to keep my years of service if my job changes?
A. Yes. Your years of service with your current employer before the KentuckyOne Health effective date will count toward your eligibility and accrual level of certain benefits (for example, paid time off accrual and benefits/retirement programs eligibility) going forward. If your position is eliminated and you are offered a new position within KentuckyOne Health, your years of service with the organization will roll over to your new position.
Q. I saw that we are getting $320 million from the merger. Will any of the money be used to make updates to the nursing station or break room on the second floor in Shelbyville?
A. We share your desire to keep our nursing and patient areas up-to-date. Catholic Health Initiatives is contributing $320 million to launch KentuckyOne Health. We are investing in a KentuckyOne integrated electronic health record system and other IT improvements, and plan to make additional facility, equipment and telehealth investments in communities across the state. For the past few weeks, our engineering team has been working to make repairs to patient rooms at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville and there are several other updates in the works for our nursing units, including the second-floor break room. Already, nursing leadership has gathered ideas for improvements and they plan to engage your team to make final decisions. We will share updates as there is news to share.
